NEW MEXICO BULLSNAKES TO BEGIN THEIR INNAGURAL ABA SEASON ON NOVEMBER 3RD
(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) – After nearly nine months of practicing and playing exhibition games, the New Mexico Bullsnakes will tip-off their regular on Sunday, November 3rd at The McDermott Athletic Center against the South Phoenix Knights.
The Bullsnakes have a solid core of 12 players on their roster, led by former UNM player Devon Williams. Williams averaged 30 points and 11 rebounds during the exhibition season.
“We are so excited to have Devon as the face of our team,” Bullsnakes owner Nick Lourenco said. “He’s a hard worker and leads by example every day in practice. The fact that he’s playing right now is a testament to his hard work.”
Williams’ UNM career was cut short in November of 2015 when he suffered a spinal injury after a fall against New Mexico State.
The team also features an array of local talent, including Mikal Monette, Lamar Morinia, and Brady Patterson. Monette is Cibola High School’s all-time leading scorer and played two seasons at UNM before finishing his career at Eastern New Mexico. Morinia, a graduate of Manzano High School, spent 10 years playing overseas and often serves as the Bullsnakes’ vocal leader. Patterson, who graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2015, was named USA Today Player of the Year for New Mexico after his senior season.
The Bullsnakes’ schedule features 14 home games and 6 road games, including trips to Las Vegas, the Dallas metro area, Phoenix, and Tucson.
