Bullsnakes 136 - South Phoenix Knights 110
Today’s afternoon affair started with the Bullsnakes coming out on fire. Contributions from 3-pt land were plentiful as Lamar Morinia was doing damage to the visiting Phoenix Knights.
Josh Holmes and Seth Warfield added to the onslaught with threes of their own.
High pressure defense produced by the Snakes was too much for the Knights. The 1st quarter ended with the Bullsnakes up 32-21.
The 2nd was more pressure from the Snakes as they built a steady double-digit lead. Lamar Morinia stayed hot and Devon Williams began to take over the second with solid post play. Holding onto a 15-pt lead, the Snakes traded with the Knights until the end of the quarter. At halftime the Bullsnakes lead 69-49.
The 3rd quarter began with the Snakes producing even more energy behind Brady Patterson’s play. The lead stayed comfortable as the Bullsnakes continued to press the Knights. The Knights however were able to cut a little into the lead by the end of the 3rd. The score at the end of the 3rd quarter was 95-80 Bullsnakes.
The 4th quarter began with the Bullsnakes pressing to build the lead. No lead is safe in the fast paced ABA. The strategy worked, and the Bullsnakes ran away with a resounding 136-110 victory.
The Snakes were able to avenge their first loss of the season, and now move to a record of 5-1 in the early season.
The Bullsnakes were lead by Lamar Morinia’s 30pts. Devon Williams came in with 26pts in the outing. Solid play all around, now the Snakes prepare for next weeks game against the Tucson Buckets.
