A Sunday afternoon affair, the Bullsnakes meet up with the Pharaohs from Las Vegas, NV for a Far West Region match-up to complete a two game series over this weekend. The Bullsnakes on Saturday came away with a 138-121 victory which made this game all the more important.

Both the Pharaohs and the Bullsnakes are fighting for spots in the ABA playoffs coming in March. The game started with the Bullsnakes on fire grabbing a quick double-digit lead throughout the 1st quarter. The Bullsnakes were crisp on offense as Lamar Morinia and Josh Holmes led the way.

Devon Williams kept the Bullsnakes going with solid play on both ends of the court. Mikal Monette who has been a rebounding monster was controlling the boards throughout the game.

The Pharaohs kept working to overcome the hole they were in with solid offense. By the middle of the 2nd quarter the Pharaohs had tied it up 43 all. The Pharaohs were able to grab the lead for about a minute. It was at this point that it became the Josh Holmes show with four 3’s in the quarter.

The Bullsnakes were able to bring the lead back up to double-digits going into halftime. The 3rd quarter was Devon Williams turn to keep the momentum going. The lead was as high as 20-points for the Bullsnakes. The Pharaohs chipped away to make it close to single-digits by the end of the 3rd quarter.

The 4th quarter became a little tight as the Pharaohs got within 6-points of the Bullsnakes. Brady Patterson and Derius Hegwood make crucial plays to push the Bullsnakes back up to double-digits.

The lead stayed around 10-points for the Bullsnakes as the Pharaohs continued to fight till the end. Mikal Monette made some big plays with a putback basket and charge which helped secure the win for the Bullsnakes 141-121 over the Pharaohs.

Both Saturday and Sunday’s games were well attended and exciting to watch. The Bullsnakes are now 8-2 in ABA league play after winning this two-game series over the weekend. There was a lot of positives for the Bullsnakes as they head into the week.

This Thursday the Bullsnakes will be back in action at the MAC against the Southwest Desertcats from El Paso, TX. Then the Bullsnakes will head to Dallas to play the North Texas Prowlers in a return game. The last time these two met, the Bullsnakes came away with the victory.
