THE NEW MEXICO Bullsnakes Launch Development Scholarship Program

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The New Mexico Bullsnakes, the state’s longest-running professional basketball organization, have announced the launch of a new youth-focused initiative—the Bullsnakes Baller Award Scholarship—honoring young athletes who exhibit dedication, growth, and community spirit. The inaugural scholarship has been awarded to Guiden Delaney, a rising basketball prospect and respected member of both Del Norte High School Basketball Club and D1 New Mexico AAU.

Guiden will receive scholarship for the month of August, which will go directly toward his development under S2A Basketball, one of New Mexico’s premier athlete performance platforms. The scholarship is designed to recognize young players who demonstrate not only athletic potential but also the character, work ethic, and leadership that define long-term success in the sport.

“I like how the kid is always positive and supportive of the basketball community at such a young age,” one Bullsnakes representative shared. “From what I hear, he’s grown tremendously on the court in a very short amount of time.”

At just high school age, Delaney is already a standout beyond the hardwood. A member of the National Honor Society, he carries himself with the type of humility and drive that coaches at all levels seek. Whether it’s diving for loose balls or cheering on teammates from the sideline, Guiden has become a symbol of what the next generation of New Mexico basketball is all about.

The Bullsnakes’ commitment to youth development and their ongoing support of organizations like S2A Basketball underscore the team’s growing legacy—not just as regional champions in the 2024 American Basketball Association, but as stewards of the basketball community in New Mexico.

“As an organization, the Bullsnakes support Guiden, the Delaney family, and S2A Basketball,” the team emphasized in a statement. “This is just the beginning of a bigger effort to pour back into the culture that raised us.”

With both men’s and women’s professional teams, a regional championship under their belt, and a long history of competitive excellence, the Bullsnakes are now turning their attention to cultivating the future. The Bullsnakes Baller Award Scholarship will be awarded monthly, serving as a consistent investment in the next wave of hoopers with heart.

Congratulations to Guiden Delaney—a young man who’s proving that hard work, humility, and heart still matter in today’s game.
